FAQ's 1. MAP SCALES Map scales are used to indicate a measurement along the ground in relation to a printed map, so that for example on a map with a scale of 1:25,000, each 25,000 centimetres on the ground will be equal to one centimetre on the map. As map scales are typically described in inches this converts to one mile on the ground being equal to 2.5 inches on the map. The following shows commonly used scales and their conversions:- 1:25,000 = 1 mile to 2.5 inches 1:50,000 = 1 mile to 1.25 inches 1:63,360 = 1 mile to 1 inch 1:100,000 = 1.5 miles to 1 inch 1:200,000 = 3 miles to 1 inch 1:250,000 = 4 miles to 1 inch 2. WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE DESPATCHED? All orders for Siteplan plots are usually despatched the same working day as receipt of order. Siteplan data orders are usually emailed within 3 hours of receipt of order. All orders for other goods if in stock are despatched within 1-2 working days. If goods are out of stock or there is to be a delay you will be notified upon receipt of your order. You will be notified by email when your order has been despatched, with an estimated delivery timescale. 3. HOW WILL MY ORDER BE SENT? Depending on the size, weight and availability of your order, the goods will either be sent by Royal Mail Post or by Courier service. 4. WHAT ARE YOUR DELIVERY CHARGES? All orders for folded maps only are sent Post Free (UK postcodes only). The charge for all other orders is £2.50 per order (UK only) regardless of size or weight.Where an order is mixed ie. one folded map and one book, then the £2.50 carriage charge applies. 5. WHEN WILL MY CREDIT/DEBIT CARD BE CHARGED? Your credit/debit card will not be charged until the goods are despatched.
